Counselling and Personal Therapy, Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
I provide therapy for clients who need time and space to explore their feelings and reactions to situations or experiences in which they are or have been involved.Everyone knows it is good to talk, however, talking to a therapist is quite different, it is a very enlightening and comfortable experience. Therapists work with clients offering appropriate support and encouragement as they work through whatever challenges they may be facing.
As we progress through life inevitably we experience some of the well known stressful events; new relationships, marriage, divorce, having a family, illness, work related stress and retirement to name just a few. How we cope at these times very much depends on our personal resources. Talking with a therapist enables clients to identify ways of coping now and in the future. The experience of therapy develops from our first meeting when I will be helping you to tell your story by actively listening and responding to you. I adhere to a strict code of confidentiality and within this safe, supportive environment you can freely explore and express the feelings and difficulties that you are encountering. Together we will work through the presenting situation and then look to move on.
There are many different models of counselling; Person Centred, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic to name a few. I am an experienced integrative trained counsellor/psychotherapist qualified to Advanced Diploma level. The integrative approach that I use has developed over many years. I use intervention techniques that are not limited by strict adherence to any one theoretical approach. This enables me to be flexible in my work with clients; interweaving theories that I am skilled in using for the benefit of my clients. Through my understanding and interpretation of the many and varied therapies available I have introduced clients to techniques and knowledge that have enabled them to make changes in their lives which they desire.
Counselling Services to Employers & Employees
Your business needs to comply with UK employment law and to meet its 'duty of care' as an employer. Providing a tailored Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) can help you achieve compliance, and reduce the risk of litigation. Many companies offer Counselling services as part of an EAP. I appreciate that many smaller organisations want to provide the best support they can for their employees, but are also on tight budgets to stay in business. I can offer you a bespoke service willing to see any employee, group of employees, or direct family members, as and when they need to, and you will only be charged for those that actually use the service.
Please telephone to discuss specific requirements which may include: counselling, critical incident support, coaching for performance and bespoke training packages to enhance team work and communication in an organisation or department.
